Recommended Books on Nutrition
Support the Mountain, Nutrition for Expanded Consciousness by Mikio Sankey, Phd, L.Ac.
This is an excellent book from a dedicated teacher, healer and acupuncturist. This is an inspiring message to all of those that are truly serious about actualizing their potential- and the important role an optimum diet of raw organic and therefore live, enzyme rich foods plays in this effort. He gives very practical details of what foods will provide the most "Qi" and the all important minerals.
Although there are numerous nutritional books, Dr. Sankey takes it to a higher level, yet presents it in a very down to earth, easy to understand format within the Chinese Five Element theory.
Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko
This is a short, easy to read book to inspire one to drink their green vegetables. She points out that one cannot eat enough of raw green vegetables- the true elixer of life, unless one juices. Although there are many books on juicing, this one is different in that she proposes blending and straining out the juice by making "green smoothies" that taste good, are reasonably fast to do on a daily basis, without a lot of time used on cleaning a juicer. Lots of testimonials and sheer enthusiasm- a great little book to get you motivated!
Go to "Helpful Products" page for nut milk bags, which are great for squeezing out the juice from the pulp in the blended green vegetable smoothies, as she describes in her book.
Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices by N.W. Walker
This is the classic book on juicing. The author was one of the pioneers of juicing, and what he has to say is straight to the point and extremely informative. It would be hard to find such succint knowledge about juicing in a small, easy to read 120 page book.

You Tube Video: Is it Better to Blend Wheatgrass or Juice it? by BlindGuru
This video presents an alternate way to juice using a high horsepower blender, an example being the Vitamix Blender. It really is a choice, as some may find this easier. But for others, they may prefer a juicer. Although he does not want to add any water into the blender, we recommend that it will be a lot easier if you do. No matter what you decide, this video is motivational and entertaining.
