Introduction to Light Therapies
It's too easy
Sometimes the simplest and the most basic premises are often dismissed. After all, how can light, and the different colors that make up the spectrum of light, really do anything at all? But light, just like food and water, is necessary for survival. Without it we would not be alive. Sunlight, which contains all of the colors, obviously allows plants to grow, which feeds us all. But it also contains information that not only activates life processes in plants but in every living being on this planet.
Light is Communication
Inside each of us are individual universes, filled with light that serves as the communication medium between cells. Research has proven that different wavelengths of light (which determine the different colors) can balance the autonomic nervous system, repair cellular damage, and activate DNA/RNA synthesis. There is a lot more that scientists and health practitioners are just starting to discover. In fact, the medicinal application of colored light is becoming an exciting field once again. In the past, there were pioneers who had courageously blazed the path even though they were often scorned at the time. Again, perhaps it seemed a bit too simple. Even today, there is still that stigma. And only recently has there been a sincere, increased interest to investigate its potential for healing. However, most people still do not appreciate or realize the deeply profound role light plays in their health.
The Connection to Acupuncture
Russian researchers at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine have shown that light applied on a person’s skin penetrates the body between 2 and 30mm, depending on the specific color used. But certain areas of the body were better able to transfer light beneath the surface, and these areas corresponded with acupuncture points. They also noticed that the pathway of these points, the acupuncture meridians, actually channeled the light through. In a sense then, the individual meridians functioned like fiber optics, allowing the light to enter deeper into the body. This, in turn, can deeply change physiology, as it has been proven that cells have photo receptors and do communicate by light.
Einstein’s Theory
Also, light can trigger a current in the body through a phenomenon called the photoelectric effect. When light hits any substance, electrons are discharged, creating a current. Albert Einstein, in 1905, won the Nobel Prize in explaining this effect, called the Corpuscular Theory of Light. He theorized that light is made up of small units called photons. A photon is the smallest unit of light and is both a wave and a particle. With that, quantum physics takes a huge leap forward. Therefore, all light therapies are in the realm of quantum physics, and at this time, traditional science does not have the capability to explain it. However, that does not negate it, as there are many testimonials from all over the world as to its effectiveness.
Esogetic Colorpuncture
Still Ahead of its Time
Esogetic Colorpuncture is a specific system of using colored light on the skin, often on acupuncture points. It was created and developed by Peter Mandel, a German naturopath, scientist and acupuncturist. His amazing story of his discoveries of color is told in the book Colour Me Healing, Colorpuncture: a New Medicine of Light. Unlike other systems that utilize colors on the skin, this system is an extremely intricate and detailed one in which exact sequences of points and colors are followed. It has completely revolutionized simple color theory and brought it to a whole new level of consciousness. Today in the United States, it still has not been recognized for what it is, as is often the case when something is quite ahead of its time.
The glass rods are calibrated precisely to emit very specific frequencies. There are numerous patterns to treat almost any ailment and on any level. To be proficient within this particular system, not only is a good understanding of acupuncture required, but there are volumes of his teachings to be understood. It could easily take a lifetime to master the true essence of his system.
Excerpts from its official website: www.colorpuncture.com
"Scientists are now discovering that light is actually the medium by which cells communicate and it is at the very basis of many body functions"…
"Colorpuncture is also a powerfully holistic healing system which offers a unique new way to get to the very roots of many health problems. It is designed to address the non-physical origins of illness as well as its physical symptoms. Colorpuncture theory uses precisely targeted light treatments to gently unlock and release emotional trauma and blocked soul information which often underlie our illnesses. Patients report not only changes in their bodies, but improved emotional outlooks and a clearer sense of life direction after treatments."
Practical applications of this non-needle modality are:
Balancing the Hormones: menopausal symptoms, digestive problems, mood swings
Conflict solving Therapies: unresolved issues of the past cause conflicts to be buried deep in the unconscious, causing problems with our present energetic systems.
Detoxification Treatments: effectively helps to activate the lymph system that goes well beyond physical detoxing. It helps to drain physical as well as old emotional toxins out of the body.
Coordination Therapies: many treatment patterns to coordinate the brain with the processes of the body. Often the brain becomes unbalanced and illness is the result.
Pain Therapies: ultraviolet, infrared or colored light through the focused glass prisms on reflex zones and other body mappings can penetrate into the deeper roots of pain. Used in conjunction with other pain dispersing methods can be extremely effective.
Prenatal Therapies: deals with the traumas in the womb that can be causing problems in the present. These can be very powerful and life changing.
